Advertising & Customer Timelines

Advertising Timeline

A year before the festival takes place early bird tickets and deals will be put online, these are especially for the returning festival goers who enjoy the festival that much that they don't care who the line up is. These will primarily be advertised using social media.

6 months before the first bands will be announced, again this will be by social media using animation to show a GIF of the bands announced. The bands playing will also announce this on their social media making their fans aware.

6/5 months before there will be radio and newspaper ads. The radios will include BBC rd2, Absolute, Radio X as these are radios that my target audience listen to, the radios will also do competitions to win tickets for the festival. The newspapers will be both local and national papers, so Blackpool papers and then the free ones which you get on buses and trains as my target audience often read the papers whilst commuting.

5-3 months before more acts will be announced until the full line up has been announced. All this will be done by social media and radio adverts. A line up poster will be designed to be posted on social media.

4/3 months before Billboards and indoor posters will be printed advertising the line up for the event, this is so that it can reach a new set of people who may not listen to the radio, read papers and use social media.

2 months before there will be more radio competitions giving tickets away.

1 month before posters will be put up on walls around Blackpool city centre and surrounding cities such as Manchester, Liverpool etc, they are put up at this stage due to them not lasting very long as they will get damaged and potentially ripped down.

In-between all this there will be constant social media posts showing photos/videos from last years events and showing different announcements, sponsors etc.

Customer Experience Timeline

1month before they will receive a letter with instructions for when they get to the festival. They also receive a guide with stage times so they can plan ahead. They will also get a small piece of merchandise like a sticker which hopefully other people will see and look into the festival.

On the day of the festival. As soon as they reach Blackpool their will be branded road signs directing them to the car parks. There will also be volounteers in branded t shirts directing and helping visitors. Around you there will be flags and banners also with branding on.
To collect their wristbands, tote bag full of stuff, car park/travel pass etc there will be kiosks also with the festival branding on.
