With billboards there are many extras you can add onto them so that they’re not just one big board like the ones in the previous slide. After visiting Clear Channel Outdoor whilst in NY I decided to research more into this to see how this could relate to my billboards for my festival to try and make something different.

On their website there is a list of things you can add to make your billboard stand out from the rest. The three main ones are Glow in the Dark paint, Extenders and 3D embellishments. The glow in the dark paint is used so that the billboard can still be visible at night but to give it an opportunity to take a different form, this tends to be used for illustrative billboards such as cartoon films. Extenders are where part of your design can extend past the canvas, this can be used to make words stand out or images stand solo. 3D embellisments are 3D objects, usually blow up models which are used to make your billboard stand out by being quite interactive and tactile.

Using one of these could be a good way of making my billboard stand out, especcially if it means that people may photograph it and share it.
